We hold what appears to be original books but little history of this vehicle is known.
Powered by a 1.6 Litre 4 cylinder engine, it produced when new 37Kw and 106Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance in the early 70’s for VW Beetles wasn’t their biggest selling point, however economy and reliability certainly featured well. This car is however capable of breaking today’s speed limits by a small degree.
In Superbug form, this 74 Beetle features a larger slightly curved front windscreen and 1.6 Litre engine, but still retains many of the early cute Beetle features. You do now get a fuel gauge instead a reserve tank and lever!
