From the Automotive Transport Engineering Services & Testing (AUTEST) report we can advise of the following modifications.
Vehicle Modifications
1. The fitting of a Porsche 2.7Lt 6 cylinder naturally aspirated engine and 5 speed manual gearbox
2. The fitting of 1979 Porsche 911 front and rear suspension assemblies
3. The fitting of 1979 Porsche 911 steering rack and pinion
4. The fitting of reproduction Porsche alloy 15 x 7 ” front and 15 x 8″ rear wheels
5. The fitting of 300x25mm front and 300x20mm rear disc brakes
6. The installation of chassis stiffening components
Engine & Transmission
A 2.7Lt air cooled flat 6 cylinder engine and 5 speed gearbox from a 1979 Porsche 911 SC have been fitted to the vehicle by adapting the entire engine and gearbox mounting cradle to the chassis of the Kombi.
The engine fitted is slightly modified with the intent of increasing power, from that of the standard engine, with measured maximum power rated as 176bhp (130.9Kw0 @ 6000rpm).
Maximum speed with the current gearing is estimated at 270kph.
The whole report is quite lengthy, but very thorough and exact to enable current road registration in South Australia.
