This vehicle also wears a rather unique chassis number 119111, not significant in 1962 but more so now.
This car appears to have been delivered new via Hoffman Motors Corp. of New York in late 1962. This original document from Germany also suggests the car was Slate Grey when new, has at some stage been Red and now has been changed back to it’s original colour.
We hold a copy of correspondence which suggests it was imported into Australia and the Government Approval # 61446 is dated 12th of September 2003.
The vehicle was subjected to an extensive repair and refurbishment by a Western Australian owner over an 8 year period ending in 2016.
We hold a large collection of paperwork, showing the car’s history in both the USA and Canada, then in WA and Vic before being purchased by the current South Australian owner.
Included in the paperwork is documentation relating to it’s current Historic registration in SA.
Powered by a 1.6 Litre 4 cylinder engine, it produced when new 51.5Kw and 110Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures at the time suggest 0-100kph in 16.6 secs and a top speed near 160kph.
A very nice presentation of a true classic Porsche and now back in it’s original form, Slate Grey and LHD.
