1962 JAGUAR E TYPE SERIES 1 3.8 COUPE – 3,220 MILES SHOWING

A matching numbers car supported by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate and telling us it was built on the 23rd of November 1962 and delivered new via Jaguar Cars of New York to an unknown destination in the USA.
We hold a copy of the Australian Import Approval dated the 28th of May 2004.
Subject of a RHD conversion and restoration to it’s new colour scheme, we hold documents approving it’s current South Australian Historic registration in 2017 and also supporting documents from automotive engineers in Adelaide, Tonkin Consulting regarding the conversion. Also held is the original and rather worn ID plate which supports all the current numbers.
Early service history is not available but the car has been looked after service wise by Classic and Sportscar Boutique of Norwood, Adelaide’s Classic Jaguar specialists.
Some subtle changes have been made to the car, including a later Series 2 all sychro gearbox and also a Cool Cat 16″ Thermo fan, both changes to make the car easier and more fun to enjoy on Australian roads and deal with warmer temperatures.
Original specifications suggest a 3.8 Litre twin cam 6 cylinder XK engine, producing 190.5Kw and 346Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures at the time of release show 0-100kph in 6.6 secs and a top speed near 230kph.
The late Enzo Ferrari is well known for suggesting that the first Jaguar E Type was the best looking car in the world at the time, quite a thought from quite a man.
This is a very nice presentation and would please the most fastidious buyer, but at a very reasonable price.
Currently Historically registered in South Australia, which is not transferrable, however it would be eligible for similar schemes in other jurisdictions, equating to minimal on road costs.
