* AVAILABLE TO VIEW BY APPOINTMENT ONLY *

Simply stunning in bright Red with Red interior trim.

The TF model was the last edition of the famous “T” Series MGs that started with the TA Midget in 1936, progressed to the TB prior to WW2, the post war TC, then the TD & TD2. Many believe the final TF to be the prettiest of all T series cars and this example just glows!

The subject of two MG experts in Adelaide who have spent a lot of time, effort and money to bring this car to it’s present condition.

One of these experts is Bob Bazzica, who for many years ran a successful business in Adelaide called MG Sales and Service and his words that follow help us to understand the TF’s history:-

“Bob bought two TF’s, both came as chassis and the bits. One was originally for his wife Michelle as a standard car, the other for Bob who was going to turbo charge it as it would be the only one in Adelaide. But after the arrival of his KN MG project, the TF projects were dropped and sold. One went to the mid north and was re-built within a year in an original Metallic Green.

Number two was the red one which was sold to Rex Brimage, a previous MGB owner, who stored it for many years in Rosewater. Then sometime in the early 2000’s he decided to start having it re-built. The engine, gearbox and diff were re-built, the body was started

The chassis was OK and work proceeded at a slow rate due to time and money. Paint and panel was done by MG Sales and Service, but as the premises were sold at this stage, a big push was done to get this car finished and drivable, new trim was fitted and it was delivered back to it’s owner. The hood and side curtains were not done at this stage but no research was done to record other previous owners.

Rex had got a bit older by now and had lost interest in driving the car around to sort out any small faults that occur after a complete rebuild, so for many years it lay in a lean-to garage.

Current owner, Max Sierp who had worked for MG Sales and Service and had done a lot of the assembly work on this car, decided he would like to buy this car. Max immediately started to sort out the car, put in a new clutch, generator, new voltage control unit and had a new hood and side curtains fitted as original, which has turned it into a quick and reliable car. After a couple of years Max who has owned a lot of cars over his lifetime, started to grow bored.

He noticed that Bob Bazzica was aware of an MGA 1600 Mk2 for sale, so with old age approaching he decided that an MGA with a closed body might be kinder to his frame, so it starts again!”

Powered by a 1.25Lt 4 cylinder engine, it produced when new 43Kw and 88Nm of power, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures suggest 0-100kph in 19.7 secs and a top speed near 130kph.
