1995 SHRIKE #1 ROADSTER
Built in the mid 1990’s, this one-off car was designed by the late Ted Noack, mastermind of the Shrike Formula Holden/Brabham project that was conducted at the Croydon TAFE in Adelaide.
It comprises of a sturdy fibreglass body over a tubular space frame. The chassis was built by arguably one of the best race car fabricators, ex Elfin Sports Car’s employee, the late John Porter. The body was built after hours by various TAFE lecturers in their spare time.
The Shrike was fully engineered by race car engineer, Graeme Burton of Tonkin Consulting and was placed on full South Australian registration.
The running gear including engine, 5 speed manual gearbox, differential and suspension are from a Mitsubishi Magna dating from the mid 80’s.
A very interesting car that drives remarkably well.
