Midnight blue with midnight blue leather, delivered new by the Sydney Porsche dealer of the time, John Newell Motors in Darlinghurst.
Powered by a 3.2 Litre air cooled 6 cylinder engine, it produces 149Kw and 251Nm of power and torque and delivers it via a 5 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures of 0-100kph in 6.7 secs and a top of 235kph were highly respectable in the 80’s and certainly still very satisfying today. Just a beautiful driver’s car.
The M491 option was essentially a 911 Turbo without the turbocharger. M491 features include the wider body, larger cross-drilled brake discs, wider front and rear wheels, factory lowered with stiffer springs and shock absorbers. It was a very expensive option in 1986. The result is a very pleasant coupe to drive with a great look. These are collectable as very few were sold new in Australia.
This example has had a recent bare metal repaint in the original colour. The engine top-end has been overhauled and leak-down results are at 4%. It is tight to drive.
