1979 MGB ROADSTER – V8 – 36,193 MILES SHOWING

This Rubber Nose roadster started life in California, delivered new by Burbank Imports of Burbank California on the 6th of October 1981.

We hold the original handbook and Passport to Service showing details of it’s early life and owner.

It was imported to Australia around 1990 and then over a period of years underwent a conversion firstly to RHD and secondly to be fitted with a 3.5 Litre Rover V8 engine, mated to a Toyota Supra 5 speed manual gearbox.

The vehicle is very original in many ways and only had a genuine 3,800 miles on the odometer when imported in 1990.

It had apparently spent over 12 months on the showroom floor, before being delivered in 1981, which was quite common with the last of the MGBs that were sent to the US.

We hold documentation from Tonkin’s Engineering certifying the above work and also SA Government documentation approving the car for road registration in SA.

The current owner who has run a well known MG business in Adelaide for many years, now happily retired but has given us the following technical information on the car.
