1978 PORSCHE 911 SC LHD MANUAL
This 911 SC was built in June 1978 and delivered new via Porsche Japan. It features the original engine and finished in the original colour, newly painted, in stunning and rare Fern Green. The black leatherette interior presents wonderfully. Other features include the rare and original cookie cutter rims with new tyres and perfect for the weekends, a sunroof.
Originally delivered new as a Sportomatic, it has just recently been enhanced professionally by a conversion to a 5 speed Porsche 915 manual with new clutch by one of Adelaide’s leading Porsche specialists, making it the perfect driver’s car- air cooled motor, manual and the winding road ahead- what else do you need.
Owner’s manual and Porsche Certificate of Authenticity are included, confirming matching numbers and the following options;

It featured a 3.0-litre aluminum engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Originally power output was 130kW or 180hp, later 140kW or 188hp and then in 1981, it was increased to 150kW or 201hp. The move to an aluminum engine was to regain case reliability, something missing for many years with magnesium. In 1981 a Cabriolet concept car was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
In 1979, Porsche had made plans to replace the 911 with their new 928 company flagship. Sales of the 911 remained so strong however, that Porsche revised its strategy and decided to inject new life into the 911 editions.
