Additional information –
The vehicle bearing the PSN – J548925 – was originally built at GMH’s Elizabeth, Adelaide plant as a painted and hard-trimmed Sandman van body. This was then assembled into a finished car and completed on 18/11/76 at GMH’s Dandenong, Melbourne assembly plant.
No delays were experienced in production. This Sandman featured the standard de-rated payload capacity (RPOXX7). “
The present owner tells us the restoration was done approximately 5 years ago, final part being the trimming.
Altogether, a very nice example which now presents in bright green and sporting a healthier 308ci (5.0 Litre V8 engine), to bring to it’s present condition. This engine now sports roller rockers and a mild Craig’s camshaft and is mated to a 5 speed Celica gearbox.
Seats, door trims and steering wheel are genuine leather.
