A matching numbers car, one of only 88 RHD versions made, it presents beautifully in Rosso Corsa over black with complimentary pale beige leather interior trim.
Released at the 1971 Turin Motor Show as the first mid engine road car to bear the Cavallino Rampante badge and replace the wildly successful Ferrari Daytona, the 365 GT4 Berlinetta Boxer set the tone for 12 cylinder Ferrari’s for years to come.
This example was delivered new by Maranello Concessionaires in Sydney and accompanied by a Ferrari Classiche Certificazione di Autenticita. Sold to a Sydney collector of fine cars, it was in his ownership until 2003.
The second owner held the car for a short time.
The next custodian embarked on an extensive nut and bolt restoration from the ground up ensuring it would be of concours standard. After 4 years of work, finished in 2010, the car claimed overall originality and factory certification.
Powered by a 4.4 Litre 12 cylinder boxer engine, it produced when new 258Kw and 409Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 5 speed gated manual gearbox. Performance in the 70’s was sensational with 0-100kph in 5.5 secs and a top speed near 300kph.
