1974 MAZDA 1300 WAGON – MANUAL – 19,289 KMS SHOWING
Presenting in White with Brown interior trim.
What was a fairly humble 1300 Wagon has now been transformed into a very sporty rotary powered wagon.
We hold all the documentation relating to it’s approval for registration and the money that has been spent to develop it to this current status. Most of the conversion work completed by well known Japanese specialists Jazmac Performance of Mt. Barker in the Adelaide Hills.
The owner knows his car best, so he has kindly given us a description of the changes as follows:-
“Starting from the front of the car, it has a re-cored RX2 radiator and R100 oil cooler.
This plums into a totally rebuilt Mazda RX7 Series 2 12A rotary engine that has been built to better to standard specifications. All work taken out by Jazmac with full receipts.
Th engine has a fully rebuilt carburettor, and the engine bay has many NOS parts installed to create a factory looking engine swap.
The engine is connected to a fully rebuilt S2 RX7 gearbox, work carried out by Rowell and Searl with full receipts. This in turn is connected to a fully rebuilt S2 RX7 differential that offers a better diff ratio, strength and the addition of rear disks on the back.
All work carried out by Old Skool Fab.
In the front Pac performance disk brake upgrades have taken place, adapted to RX2 struts.
The cars body work presents well with a respray and body work completed by Lonsdale Restoration. When the body work was being completed all new window rubbers were installed, the very hard to find gutter chrome were fully restored and bumper cars re-chromed.
The interior has also seen a full restoration.
New carpet, re-trimming of the seats, desirable and hard to find matching orange door cards sourced and the very rare Mazda 1300 coupe instrument cluster installed to provide tacho functionality.
To keep the originality of the car, a Bluetooth receiver is hidden in the glove box and is connected to the speaker in the factory location, so it all looks like it was presented from the show room floor. There is still plastic on the sunscreen visors and the roof lining has been restored.
This car is fully approved by Regency with full paperwork.
The car has two looks, with either hubcap and white wall tyres or period correct 15 inch wheels.”
Because of the new engine, we have no information on it’s current performance capabilities, however you can be sure it would out perform the original 1300 wagon quite easily.
A great classic Japanese presentation with loads of new life and some new technology.
Available to inspect on our state of the art showroom floor in Adelaide.
We can arrange transport door to door Australia wide.
