This is quite a remarkable one family owner car that was delivered new by City Datsun Pty Ltd of 60 Franklin Street Adelaide on the 22nd of April 1974.
We know this because we hold the original invoice of that date and also interesting to read that the trade in for the sale was a highly collectable (by today’s standards), a 67 Prince Skyline 2000 GT-B.
A very original car in many ways, including paint colour, what appears to be the original interior trim, engine and documentation.
The original service book shows owner’s details again and some early service history.
Powered by a 2.6 Litre 6 cylinder engine, it produced when new 119Kw and 214.8Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 5 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures at the time suggested 0-100kph in 9.0 secs and a top speed near 210kph.
It is quite rare to find a car to find a vehicle that has been in the one family for over 50 years and supported by all the documentation issued to them when purchased.
Currently Historic registration papers show it with a VIN # “NOT RECORDED”, however the original documents, compliance plate and scuttle stamping all show ” RS30-000776 ” as the chassis number. So it is without doubt a matching numbers car.
