1974 CHEVROLET CORVETTE C3 TARGA – MANUAL – 90,649 MILES SHOWING
Presenting in Bright Red with black interior trim.
Converted to RHD some years ago.
Powered by a 5.7 Litre (350ci) V8 engine, it produced when new 145.5Kw and 373Nm op power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance suggested at the time of release was 0-100kph in 8.3 secs and a top speed near 190kph.
The current SA owner for some 18 years has supplied the following information on his car:-
“I purchased the vehicle in 2003/2004. It was already converted to right hand drive and it was white in colour. Not the original colour
and it had aftermarket mag wheels on it that were in poor condition.
Over the next 18 years the car has had a significant amount of work done on it. Items including:
• Paint and panel restoration, hand rubbed back to the raw fibreglass and resprayed in a BMW colour called Sting Red
• Custom made wheels by ROH Wheels were added
• Suspension work done to have the car sit correctly
• Electronic ignition added
• New Radiator
• New Exhaust and pipes
• Interior restoration in 2020 by Spencer Motor Trimmers, including custom detailed bucket seats
• Steering box rebuilt and most bushes and bearings replaced under vehicle
For a 1974 car it now drives really well, hugging the road and handing well. It has an inbuilt kill switch for security. Targa roof that can be removed and it has the optional rear wing instead of a luggage rack.
1974 was the first of the fibreglass bumper bar models.
Vacuum controlled head lights and windscreen wipers all in working order.
350 Chev motor in good working order. Very little work done on the motor in the past 18 years as has always started first pop and worked well.”
