1973 JENSEN INTERCEPTOR III COUPE – 43,796 MILES SHOWING

A rare find today, this Jensen Interceptor III presents in red with black leather interior.

This example is running and complete, but does require some restoration.

Jensen Motors used Chrysler V8 engines for the Interceptor, starting with the 6276 cc (383 c.i.) with optional manual (Mark I, only 22 built) or TorqueFlite automatic transmissions driving the rear wheels through a limited slip differential in a conventional Salisbury rear axle.

The Mark III, introduced in 1971, revised the front grille, headlamp finishers and bumper treatment again. It had GKN alloy wheels and air conditioning as standard, and revised seats. It was divided into G-, H-, and J-series depending on the production year. The 6.3 litre 383ci engine was superseded by the 7.2 litre 440ci in 1971.

Powered by this 7.2 Litre Chrysler V8 engine, it was rated when new at 164Kw and 474Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 3 speed Torque Flite automatic transmission. Performance was rated at 0-100kph in 10.5 secs and a top speed near 215kph. Not a supercar performance wise, however the best of classic British Grand Touring.

Eligible for Historic registration in most jurisdictions, this makes for minimal on road costs and allows you to enjoy this car for touring and classic car events.
