This vehicle comes with the original handbook and service book. The service book shows an amazing history of early service attention.
The glove box suggests it is a 15th Millionth Anniversary model, however we have no proof of that credential.
Wearing quite rare and period correct EMPI GTV wheels, it gives this example a rather sporty look.
The car is in remarkable original condition considering its age and is a credit to former owners. It has mostly original paint with evidence of some more recent touch ups in some areas. Both front seats are original, but show signs of wear on the shoulders.
Powered by a 1600cc 4 cylinder engine, it produced 37Kw and 106Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance wasn’t a big issue for a Beetle in 1972 even with the S version 1.6Lt engine, but it was capable of near 130kph as a top speed. More to the point, they were amazingly reliable and fun to drive and this car will bring all those feelings back to you.
