This vehicle started life as a Morris Mini Minor sedan and has been rebuilt some years ago as a Cooper S tribute, with the main purpose being to use it for competition and in particular the Targa Tasmania rally.
Powered by a modified 1275cc Cooper S engine, we have paperwork suggesting this development into it’s current status was done some 30 years ago.
Paperwork suggests the engine has increased in capacity to 1340cc, sports a twin choke Weber carburettor and also exhaust extractors. Current power figures are not available, but the author of these words who knows Cooper s’s well, says it performs very well and is surprisingly quick and sounds great.
Part of a collection that has been idle for some time due the current owner’s health, it has just had attention with a fresh service and oil change. It would certainly respond to more attention and fettling in the future.
