Australian delivered and built CKD at BMC’s plant at Zetland just south of Sydney.
Presenting in Indigo Blue with Black interior trim.
Build number 1195, so an early Mk2 with a Mk 1 interior heater, as BMC did put Mk 1 heaters left over into some of the first Mk 2s.
Serviced more recently by Mini specialists Dave Armstrong Motors of Salisbury SA and last completed on the 9th of January 2024 at 14,568 miles.
Subject of a bare metal rebuild in 2012 which involved straightening, metal finished and then re-painted in the original colours with 2-Pak paint.
Seats have been overhauled with new diaphragms and just recently, a new battery.
Dave Armstrong Motors have re-built the engine in 2019. We have documents to support the all the engine work, body work, up-dating and servicing. Mileage at the engine rebuild was 12,520, so very little use since.
Powered by a 1275cc 4 cylinder east west engine, it produced when new 56Kw (75bhp) and 107Nm of power and torque, delivered to the front wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures suggest 0-100kph in 10.4 secs and a top speed near 160kph.
This Cooper S engine has been fitted with 1.5 inch SU carburettors and ceramic coated exhaust extractors, so above performance figures may be improved slightly.
This giant killer of the 60’s will put a smile on your face, not only from the amount of room inside, but also it’s record performance and handling capabilities. Considered a quick car when first designed and still is a surprisingly quick car today with that legendary handling.
Currently Historically registered in South Australia, this is not transferable, however it would be eligible for similar schemes in other jurisdictions. This equates to minimal on road costs.
