Presenting in bright new Red paintwork with black interior trim.

Built at the Ford factory at San Jose California in February 1969, we hold a copy of the Marti report attesting to it's origins.

Imported into Australia, the Vehicle Import Approval is dated April 2008.

Subject of a very recent full restoration, the vehicle is now fully road registered in South Australia.

Powered by a 7.0 Litre (428ci) Cobra Jet V8 engine, it produced when released 250Kw and 597Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance claimed suggested 0-100kph in 6.1 secs and a top speed near 200kph. It certainly was a muscle car of note in in its day and still very respected over 50 years later.

The current owner has supplied the following information about its current state:-

"• Imported into Australia from the USA in November 2007 by Hillier Classic Mustangs in South Australia.

• Bought from Hilliers by the current owner in May 2008

• Started a 14-year restoration project, sourcing all the correct pieces for this rare R-code Cobrajet Mustang with a genuine Cobrajet
428 big block motor.

• The car has undergone a full nut and bolt, bare metal, rotisserie restoration.
• All body work was done to a very high standard by an old-school panel beater with any patches of corrosion replaced with fresh

• While the car was disassembled, the frame rails were treated for corrosion resistance
• Car was repainted from the original Meadowlark Yellow to a genuine Mustang Candy apple Red using PPG Deltron paint.

• The original motor had a replacement service block due to a conrod damage, so a blueprinted date code correct genuine Cobrajet
motor was sourced from Keith Craft Engines in the USA

• The RUG-AE2 bullnose top loader was fully rebuilt and the nodular 9 inch differential with 31 spline axles was fitted with a 3.5
Detroit locker centre.

• Every effort has been made to keep this car as original as possible other than the following model correct upgrades.

o 2” lowered suspension was fitted all round
o Car had a bare metal respray in Candy apple Red PPG Deltron
o Fitted with genuine 69 front disc brakes and booster
o Fitted with power steering
o Full led globes fitted throughout the vehicle
o Upgraded front halogen headlamps and wiring harness for safe night driving
o Originally fitted with a 3.5 ratio open diff centre, replaced with a new 3.5 Detroit locker.

• Restoration work was undertaken by specialist professional Mustang restoration workshop “Plowman Restoration” in Lonsdale.

• The car was driven from the restoration workshop upon completion, garaged overnight at the owner's property then delivered to
Richmonds for sale the next day.

• Every component on the car has either been restored or replaced to “as new” condition.

• Car has recently been through Regency Park inspection process on 30/4/2022 prior to it’s first registration in Australia on 1/5/2022.

• The car is on full SA registration for a period of 12 months"
