1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z28 COUPE – MANUAL – LHD – 81,740 MILES SHOWING

Presenting in Yellow with Black interior trim.

We hold a copy of the Australian Government Vehicle Import Approval #114771/33 dated the 8th of July 2013.

We understand from the current owner that this is a genuine Z28 with most items matching.

Included with this sale are three manuals still wrapped in plastic relating to the Z28.

Original specifications for the Z28 are a 4.9Litre V8 engine, producing when new 216Kw and 393Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures at the time of release suggested 0-100kph in 7.6 secs and a top speed near 210kph.

There have been some modifications to this car, so the above figures may vary slightly.

The current owner’s words are as follows which explain some of the changes:-

“The car has been rotisserie restored to original specifications. I have receipts dating back to the early 70’s, where the second owner got the car and kept his receipts and service history. It also has the original books, the warranty Protect-o-plate and has been certified as original matching number driveline by Mike Kaiser of Arizona Muscle Cars.

The engine, gearbox and differential numbers are matching and date coded correctly. I have attached pictures of these identifying codes (noting Vin # is on the engine block and gearbox from factory). This is the original DZ engine – highly sought after. Being a pre-X code z28 this is critical to identifying it as original and matching (in addition to the certification provided by Mike Kaiser).

As part of the restoration process, the car has had all the original markings re-created, specifically the engine bay and undercarriage. The engine has a reproduction Cross Ram manifold and carby set up installed both of which have been certified by Wayne Guinn in the US and entered into the Cross Ram registry. I have provided the certification from Wayne in the documentation folder.

When getting registered in Australia, I had to change the seatbelts, front brake lines and exhaust. I had a full custom stainless steel 3” system with an X-pipe installed. I have the tail pipes to go with the car. I have also had a tru-track accessory drive installed onto the engine to stop belts flying off at high RPM. I have the original pulley system to go with the car. I have attached the registration papers and the import approval.

General things – the car has the original race spec 30/30 cam in it and this, combined with the cross ram set up make it easy to flood the engine – you only need to rest your foot on the accelerator to start the vehicle, pumping the accelerator will flood the engine. The car has been tuned and set up by Paul Pavlov motors and runs excellent”

This vehicle is definitely one for the muscle car enthusiast and will attract attention wherever it goes.

Eligible for Historic registration in most jurisdictions, this equates to minimal on road costs.

The current SA plates RLZ028 may be available with this sale if the car is sold to another SA owner.
