This little gem comes in British Racing Green with a Toga White roof.

A matching numbers car.

Trimmed in black, most of the features are very original and in very good condition.

This car has been the subject of a restoration in the past and presents very well. We have no evidence of the car's early history, however a lot of paperwork is at hand supporting much work done by two very respected Mini specialists in South Australia, Minisport at St. Marys in Adelaide and Dave Armstrong Motors of Salisbury SA. Dave Armstrong is well known in South Australia as a Mini specialist and having raced Cooper S's in the past.

Performance of the Cooper S is legendary around the world, having amassed many racing and rally victories, none more famous than the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964 and even more famous here, the 1966 Bathurst 500 against much bigger and more powerful opponents. There is no suggestion that this example has been raced, but it is always worth reflecting on what an impact this car made both on the road and on the track.

Powered by a 1275cc 4 cylinder east west engine, it produced when new 57Kw and 108Nm of power and torque delivered to the front wheels by a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures at the time were amazing, 0-100kph in 10.8 secs and a top of 160kph. Those performance figures were fast in the early 60's and can't compare to modern hatch's performance, but nothing can handle corners quicker than a Cooper S. Fabulous cars to drive and they just put a smile on your face!
