Sold new in Adelaide by the then only Mercedes Benz dealer, BEA Motors of 62-72 Flinders Street on the 21st of April 1967. We hold the original hand book and service book, attesting to the love and care this vehicle has had over some 54 years.
Paintwork is original colour and interior trim is the original trim. The woodwork around the doors and below the windscreen are unmarked and original.
The number plates, RJJ478 are the plates on it from day one, except for a short sojourn in Queensland in 1989.
Powered by a 2.5 Litre 6 cylinder engine, it produced when new 109Kw and 213Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed automatic transmission. Performance was gentle and refined for the time and still is today. 0-100kph in 12.8 secs and a top speed near 180kph.
It features air conditioning that works and gentle window tint.
This was a classy European sedan in its day, driven by professionals and people looking for a bit more style than the locally produced cars.
