1966 MORRIS COOPER S TRIBUTE SEDAN – 10,193KMS SHOWING

Based on a standard Morris Mini Sedan, this example has been very thoroughly converted to tribute the lion killing Cooper S of 1966.
The genuine Cooper S’s of 1966 in racing guise, won the Bathurst 500 race and beat much larger cars with bigger engines and performance, outlasting them because of power to weight ratio, better lasting brakes and twin fuel tanks. These little shoeboxes on wheels were so respected after that Bathurst win that the NSW Police force ordered them as pursuit cars for their Highway Patrol division.
Featuring a genuine 1275 Cooper S engine and Mk2 all synchro gearbox, this car is a load of fun to drive and quite quick, even though nearly 60 years old.
Original spec of the 1275cc engine are 57.5Kw and 107Nm of power and torque, delivered to the front wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance figures suggest 0-100kph in 11.3 secs and a top speed near 160kph.
Current performance could very likely be improved from the above figures, as the owner has done some updating mentioned below.
The current owner of the car is a classic car enthusiast and has done a great job with this car. His words follow:-
