This beautiful English roadster is a further development of the Giovanni Michelotti designed Triumph TR4, now with improved road holding via independent rear suspension (IRS).
Presenting in New white with Black interior trim.
We hold a Heritage Certificate which tells us this car was delivered to Australian Motor Industries Ltd. Sydney, production date being 14th of April 1965 and dispatch date for Australia was the 30th of April 1965. AMI were of course the Australian Triumph agents at the time.
A matching numbers car and we also hold a slightly weathered but correct handbook for the TR4A.
This vehicle has had major service attention in 2016 and 2017 and has just had oil and filter change.
The current owner has also supplied a large folder covering a lot of this car’s history originally in NSW and now in South Australia since 2016. Paintwork is the original colour, but has been repainted some years ago.
Powered by a 2.1 Litre 4 cylinder engine, it produced when new 78Kw and 179Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via 4 speed manual gearbox together with overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears, so effectively a 6 ratio gearbox. Performance figures suggest 0-100kph in 11.3 secs and a top speed near 175kph.
The car comes with a soft top, both quarter and full tonneau covers. So three different styles of driving.
A very classic English sportscar in every respect and of course eligible for Historic registration in most jurisdictions, which equates to minimal on road costs.
