1964 JAGUAR MkII 3.8 SEDAN – MANUAL – 99,408 MILES SHOWING

This lovely matching numbers example was built on the 7th of September 1964. We hold a copy of the Jaguar Heritage Archive Production Certificate # 41945, attesting to it’s origins. Original colour was Mist Grey with Red interior trim.
Jaguar Cars Ltd of Brown’s Lane Coventry UK dispatched the car by ship in 1964 to Sagers Motors, the Jaguar dealers of Salisbury (now Harare) Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe). The car was ordered for the British South African Police Force (BSAPF), apparently changing hands several times in Harare before being exported to Australia.
3.4 and 3.8 Litre Mark II’s were popular with police forces, especially UK country police forces in the 60’s. A similar model also featured in the infamy of the Great Train Robbery, both in the hands of the police and the robbers on getaway!
The documents provided with the car show the car was imported to Australia in early 2005 to a resident of Crabtree Tasmania.
It was later sold to a resident of NSW who in 2018 completed a re-furbishment and colour change to the now gorgeous Imperial Maroon.
The current owners of the car are residents of Adelaide and purchased the car in April 2024, and named her “Lady Rose”.
Powered by a 3.8 Litre twin cam XK engine, it produced when new 164Kw and 325Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed Moss manual gearbox with overdrive on 4th gear, making it a 5 ratio gearbox. Performance figures at the time of release suggested 0-100kph in 8.5 secs and top speed near 200kph.
This particular Mk11 is one of the nicest presentations we have seen and is blessed with electric power steering which makes it feel like a modern car. Stunningly trimmed in Light Brown leather with gleaming walnut dash and window trims, it is just the perfect English classic car to cruise in.
We hold two folders of invoices and paperwork relating to it’s history and maintenance.
The current MKII64 SA plates may be available if the car is sold to another SA resident.
This car is also eligible for Historic registration in most jurisdictions, this equates to minimal on road costs.
