This is a remarkable EH Holden from it’s history, restoration and now it’s current condition.
Sold new by Winter and Taylor Pty Ltd, Holden dealers at the time of Geelong Vic, we hold a letter from them confirming the order of the car on the 7th of February 1964.
We hold the original books and they show the original owner’s details and some of the early servicing completed.
The car was restored some years ago in South Australia, we hold photos showing some of the process.
The current condition of the car is an absolute credit to the current Victorian owner and also previous owners, one of whom completed the restoration to a standard that exceeds the original GMH standard.
Two non standard modifications have been made to the car to bring it up to date for current road conditions, firstly a disc front braking system and secondly, perhaps more cosmetic, is the addition of after market but period correct alloy wheels. The suspension does appear to have been slightly lowered from original, but we have no details of how this was completed.
Powered by it’s matching numbers engine, the 149 produced when new 71Kw and 183Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 3 speed “on the tree” manual gearbox. Performance figures at the time of release suggested 0-100kph in 15.6 secs and a top speed near 150kph.
This vehicle comes supplied with a bra for the front of the car to give the ultimate paint protection on cruises and also a workshop manual to assist in it’s on going maintenance.
