1963 VOLKSWAGEN KOMBI TRANSPORTER TYPE 1 – 9 SEATER – 347 MILES SHOWING
A stunning Split Window presentation in White over Blue with Grey interior trim.
We hold a certificate from the Stiftung Auto Museum Volkswagen showing build date of the 18th of March 1963 and dispatch date of the 19th of March 1963 to of all places, the beautiful islands of Fiji. An original RHD version, with grey interior but not stating it’s exterior colour.
The certificate also states in was dispatched in CKD form (Complete Knock Down) so may have come to Australia first to be completed, and then shipped to Fiji. However, there are no documents to actually confirm how it all started.
Found on a farm and badly in need of some serious love some years ago, now the subject of a major restoration by it’s current owner and the installation of a 2.3 Litre modified Volkswagen naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine. Current performance figures are unknown, however this vehicle could easily out perform a similar model in standard format.
We hold two large folders with a large number of receipts and photographs showing it’s progress to it’s current state. Fully engineered for road use in South Australia, certified by well known automotive engineers, Tonkin Consulting of Kent Town Adelaide.
