1962 VOLKSWAGEN BEETLE 1200 SEDAN – MANUAL – 1,048 MILES SHOWING

This amazing Beetle wearing the infamous “Herbie #53” stickers, is actually amazing for it’s history because of it’s original books and early life in Victoria.

Delivered new by Sanderson Motor Company of Hawthorn Victoria on the 11th of January 1962.

Presenting in Pale Grey with Red and Cream interior trim.

We hold the original hand book and service book, which shows a lot of early service history in Victoria.

The books held confirm this is a matching numbers car.

The car has been in South Australian ownership for at least 28 years, we have a copy of a SA registration certificate which determines such.

Powered by a 1.2 litre 4 cylinder air cooled engine, it produced when new 40bhp (29.8Kw), delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox. Performance for these early Beetle’s was more about reliability and economy and that’s why they did so well in the market and also as rally cars.

This model is we presume a de-luxe version, which has a fuel gauge and some extra chrome features, which a lot of the earlier Beetles didn’t have.

Originality is it’s greatest feature and will certainly respond to someone’s further love and attention.

Currently Historically registered in SA, this is not transferable, however it would be eligible for similar schemes in most jurisdictions, this equates to minimal on roads costs.

Available to inspect on our state of the art showroom floor in Adelaide.

We can arrange transport door to door Australia wide.

Finance – our broker offers VERY competitive rates and prompt service.

We welcome the opportunity to consider your trade in.
