1962 MG MIDGET MK1 – NO EXTERNAL DOOR HANDLES OR QUARTER WINDOWS – 6444 MILES SHOWING
This is a very cute example of an early MG Midget which has been restored by the previous owner in Victoria. The body and interior trim are very tidy and the engine runs sweetly.
Powered by an 1100cc version of a BMC A Series engine, it drives through a 4 speed gearbox to the rear wheels. The engine has been rebuilt and has good compression. The only thing not standard with the engine is a set of exhaust extractors which give a little more power plus a lovely exhaust note.
The soft top is available, but the hood frames need repainting, however it does have a new tonneau cover. Current owner has never used the soft top and just enjoys the open roadster style of driving.
This is a perfect fine weather sports car in the best British tradition, it will put a smile on your face as you enjoy its open air feel.
Being a 1962 model, it will be eligible for Historic or Club registration in most Australian states. It is currently Historically registered in South Australia.
As early Mk1 Midgets are quite rare, this one wont last long. Classic sportscar motoring at a very reasonable price.
