1961 JAGUAR Mk 2 3.8 MANUAL + O/DRIVE - 21,388 MILES SHOWING
Presenting in Old English White with complimentary red leather interior trim.
The Jaguar Mk2 3.8 manual was a highly respected performance sedan in the early 60's, so much so that the UK police used them as pursuit cars and they needed the performance because the criminals drove them too.
They were also highly thought of as racing cars both in the UK and in Australia, Bob Jane being one well known Australian racing driver who punted a Jaguar Mk2 3.8 very successfully.
There is no suggestion that this example has been on the race track, but it is interesting to learn of their performance heritage.
Early history of this car of this car is not available, however the present owner has supplied some paperwork supporting attention in recent years.
Powered by a 3.8 Litre XK twin cam 6 cylinder engine, it produced when new 164Kw and 325Nm of power and torque, delivered to the rear wheels via a 4 speed manual gearbox together with o/drive on 3rd and 4th gears, so plenty of power and 6 ratios to enjoy it with.
Performance was exciting in the early 60's at 0-100kph in 8.5 secs and a top speed near 200kph.
A very nice and tidy example which will be ideal for classic car events, shows or just a cruise on your favourite road.
