1957 INTERNATIONAL AS-110 HALF TONNE UTE – 14,548 MILES SHOWING
The International A series (or A-line) replaced the S series in April 1957.
The name stood for “Anniversary”, as 1957 marked the fiftieth (or Golden) anniversary of truck production by International Harvester. It was largely a rebodied version of the light and medium S-series truck, incorporating a wide cab and more integrated fenders.
A modified version of this truck range was also built in Australia until 1979, where it was marketed both as an International and as a Dodge.
Presented here is an amazing survivor in Harvester Red from the late 50’s, most of its brothers have long since rusted away in country paddock corners or behind a farm shed. This example still goes and drives well, still has mostly its original paint, mostly original trim (except for the seat bottom which has had a new piece fitted) and its original running gear and engine.
The current owner has owned this vehicle for many years and often thought of restoring it, but just loves that it still goes and runs well and delivers so much pleasure to use and drive as a commercial vehicle.
Powered by a 6 cylinder engine, it’s power was transferred to the rear wheels via a 3 speed manual gearbox (on the tree). Technical details of the engine are hard to find, however it was and still is a very capable workhorse with a half ton capacity.
Here are the owner’s words relating to his experience with the vehicle:-

1. I think maybe council government
2nd owner Dominic Panuccio
3rd owner Brenton Vaux (current)
Was used by D. Panuccio who lived in Hendon area on large acreage there growing potato and produce the truck was used to take his
produce up the Port road to the Adelaide Central Market to sell his produce for a large portion of its life. The truck was always garaged
in a big shed at his property.
It was his pride and joy as it has been mine since 2001 when I purchased her.
I have taken great care to keep her original and under cover the last 20 years has only ever been on club rego and used for a weekend
drive never in the wet. occasionally and going to market myself.
I recently went on a drive to Wilmington in the Flinders Ranges, she went great.
The truck gets a lot of attention I’ve been pulled up twice by police only because they wanted to admire the old girl, I’ve met many great
people during my time owning her so I hope the new owner doesn’t mind the attention because this old girl certainly draws people to
her .
I don’t think there a many cars out there as good as this but that’s my opinion, she is a true unmolested survivor.
It’s very rare if at all to find a inter like her these days in original condition.”
The number plates SA 303844 on the vehicle are not available with the sale.
This vehicle would be a perfect promotional vehicle for many small businesses, sitting out the front with your corporate sign on the door and some of your produce or items for sale in the back.
It’s true value is in just the way it presents, or you could choose to restore, but unmolested it just attracts so much attention.
