A very glamourous early Ford F1 ute, which would make a great promotional vehicle as well as being a lot of fun to drive and show at classic car events.
The current owner has provided the following information on his vehicle:-
“The Ford F1 is the first generation of the F series trucks that started it all. This car is a rare Australian delivered original right hand drive 1951 F1 1/2 tonne ute, its a nut and bolt restoration.
The original 239 cubic inch side valve has been replaced with a 351 Cleveland with a Brawler quick fueller 600cfm Holley with Auto electric choke, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, C6 transmission with a Lokar shifter and gear indicator.
Desert cooler radiator with custom shroud and 16 inch SPAL Thermo fan, Aeroflow fuel pump, Borg Warner diff, power steering on rack and pinion Mitsubishi L300 front end on the original chassis boxed and modified , 4 wheel disc brakes.
A Lokar handbrake assembly, collapsible tilt steering column, electric windows, air-con and heating, full custom carpet, new leather interior with custom headlining, woodgrain banjo steering wheel, all new gauges, door handles, fuel cell under the polished rear timber bed, kill switch and fuel pump isolator, 12v upgrade completely rewired as expected of a full restoration. Kenwood stereo/phone setup.
Everything that was chrome has been re-chromed and there’s lots of chrome under the bonnet.
Engineering has been completed in South Australia and this F1 has full road registration.”
