1980 LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH LP400S RHD Series 2
Australian delivered - imported new by the Melbourne-based Australian dealer Tony De Fina on 17th January 1980 (documented by the manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A).
Just 18 RHD examples of the LP400S model were manufactured with 6 sold new in Australia (documented by the manufacturer Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A).
Currently with just 45,000 km, the engine and clutch were fully reconditioned under 1,000 km ago by highly regarded Italian car specialist Ital Services.
Originally Pine Green with brown interior, this LP400S has been black for over 20 years.
Previous ownership for 20 years.
The word Countach translates roughly as "Heavens!" - essentially the natural reaction when eyes are first cast upon this amazing design.
The design was by the Bertone studio and the stylist was Marcello Gandini (also known for the Miura).
The chassis is a tubular space frame with the body manufactured from aircraft-standard aluminium resulting in a relatively light weight of 1400kg.
The LP400S was the first Countach to adopt the wild styling changes that continued to the end of production - wider wheel arches accommodated the rear 345/35R15 Pirellis and the V shaped spoiler was a popular option.
While some people collect art and some classic cars, here is a rare opportunity - classic car art.
This is a very collectable Lamborghini with great potential to benefit from growing value over future years.
